meet the WORLD's ugliest woman
Once called "The World's Ugliest Woman," Lizzie Velasquez was born with a medical condition so rare that just two other people in the world are thought to have it. She weighs just 60 pounds and has no adipose tissue, and cannot create muscle, store energy, or gain weight. She inspired women the world over earlier this year when, during an interview with CNN, she said that people "should stop staring and start learning." Since then, she told Yahoo! Shine, she's been flooded with speaking requests and supportive emails. In 2013 she's hoping write her third book (her second, "Be Beautiful, Be You" came out in September), continue her work as a motivational speaker, and meet as many people as possible in 2013.
I Regret Insulting Keshi But He Wasn't Fair To Me —Osaze
Estranged Super Eagles attacker Osaze Odemwingie has said he regrets his
abusive Twitter comments. He claimed they were made because coach
Stephen Keshi was not fair to him. He even described Chris Green, whom
he had also abused, as a good man:
“I told the coach I was ready to report to camp by January 3, even before other professionals start reporting to camp, if I were in his programme for the Nations Cup, and even told him to feel free to drop me, if I were not in his programme.
“I felt betrayed after that seeming heart-to-heart discussions with the coach few days to the release of the team list and he could not hint me I was not in his plan for the Nations Cup.
“I am human and open to errors by the way I may have taken the issue, and regret the whole controversy, and want to put all this behind me now and focus on my club career, while wishing the team the best of luck as a Nigerian.”
Recall that the West Bromwich striker had in the wake of the release of the Nigeria provisional team list for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations taken to his Twitter account and made disparaging comments against Keshi, the team captain and some Nigeria Football Federation officials.
“I remember it was Green who settled my case with Siasia then, but I was too angry when he called me over this matter, and was impatient to listen to him.”
“My comment was not directed at him personally, but to those who made the decision, but I think I overreacted then.”
On his face-off with Keshi, Osaze said:
“I called the coach two or three times within that period, maybe two or
three days before the list was made public and told him of my commitment
to be part of the Nations Cup, and have told my (club) coach I will be
going to the Nations Cup.
“I told the coach I was ready to report to camp by January 3, even before other professionals start reporting to camp, if I were in his programme for the Nations Cup, and even told him to feel free to drop me, if I were not in his programme.

Past coaches, including Samson Siasia and Lars Lagerback, were not
spared and continued days later with direct hits at ex-Nigeria
international Victor Ikpeba.
However, Osaze said his mistakes were made in a fit of anger.

China passes law requiring people to visit their elderly parents, or risk being sued by them:
Visit your parents. That's an order.
So says China, whose national legislature on Friday amended its law on the elderly to require that adult children visit their aged parents "often" — or risk being sued by them.
The amendment does not specify how frequently such visits should occur.
State media say the new clause will allow elderly parents who feel neglected by their children to take them to court. The move comes as reports abound of elderly parents being abandoned or ignored by their children.
A rapidly developing China is facing increasing difficulty in caring for its aging population. Three decades of market reforms have accelerated the breakup of the traditional extended family in China, and there are few affordable alternatives, such as retirement or care homes, for the elderly or others unable to live on their own.
Earlier this month, state media reported that a grandmother in her 90s in the prosperous eastern province of Jiangsu had been forced by her son to live in a pig pen for two years. News outlets frequently carry stories about other parents being abused or neglected, or of children seeking control of their elderly parents' assets without their knowledge.
The expansion of China's elderly population is being fueled both by an increase in life expectancy — from 41 to 73 over five decades — and by family planning policies that limit most families to a single child. Rapid aging poses serious threats to the country's social and economic stability, as the burden of supporting the growing number of elderly passes to a proportionately shrinking working population and the social safety net remains weak.

"Dbanj’s Koko Concert Was A Complete Mess" - Disappointed fans express anger on Twitter
Dbanj disappointed his fans at the concert.
Micro-blogging site, Twitter, was agog with criticism of the end of the year concert by popular Afropop musician, Dbanj, tagged Koko Concert held at the Eko Atlantic Beach, Lagos .
Many of Dbanj’s frustrated fans who took to twitter to vent their anger described the concert as lacklustre and ill-managed.
In the past weeks, the concert has enjoyed a lot of hype in the media and was one of the most expensive musical concerts in the country. Some fans paid as much as N1 million to attend the concert which also has Hollywood actor Idris Elba; America rappers, Pusha T and Big Sean; as well as Nigerian-born British rapper Tinnie Tempah; on parade.
Fans were particularly disappointed by Dbanj’s performance. Many of them who went to the concert hoping to hear him perform some of his popular tunes were heartbroken as the musician chose to perform his most recent tunes that many have problems relating to.
“Dbanj does not have any song to sing.. Terrible. Let tomorrow come first,” said a fan tweeting from the handle @RicDizZle.
“Sing Suddenly or Mogbonofelifeli if you know say e sure for you!” @RicDizZle continued referring to some the musician’s popular tunes.
Dbanj, who is used to a mimed performance, had problems adjusting to performing to a live band, some attendees said.
“I think Dbanj is the worst performer of the night #kokoconcert. Easier to perform with a CD. Live performance no be beans [not easy],” said a fan tweeting from the handle @ebraheemshehu
“I have a lot of respect for #Nigerian artistes who perform with a live band but i don’t think #Dbanj killed it today. #kokoconcert,” said Fidelis Mbah, a reporter with the BBC.
“That’s not a live band, just a bunch of confused electricians,” said another fan tweeting from the handle @TheBlackHermit.
Insulted fans
His woeful performance aside, many of fans, who stayed awake all night to see him perform at the concert and those watching the live stream of the event on NdaniTV, said Dbanj’s worst blunder of the night was when he said: “The people wey pay me money na dis side dem dey” (those that paid me are on this side) while apologising to those at the VVIP section of the concert for below-par arrangement made for them. At a point he even asked those at the popular and VIP sections to apologise to those at the VVIP for the inconvenience they suffered.
Fans at the popular section and VIP paid 5,000 and 20,000 respectively. Many of his fans who felt insulted reacted sharply:
“Disgusting that he only keeps apologising to VVIP. The 5K ticket holders are the real fans and the ones promoting his music . Shame,” said a fan tweeting from @Rebl_jade.
“Dbanj needs to stop acting the fool with this VVIP thing. So rude!” said @EniolaHundeyin
“And he had the nerve to ask the 5k & 20k people to aplogise to the VVIPs. I say it, the concert was an allegory for Nigeria as a whole,” said Tola Sarumi tweeting from @AfroVII.
“Only in naija (Nigeria) you pay for something and STILL get insulted. Customer appreciation? Absolute zero,” said a fan tweeting from @kennagq
A complete mess
From tiresome trek along the sandy beach, inadequate parking space, to Dbanj’s fake American accent, the general perception was that the overpriced concert was a failure.
“The worst day of my life! Dec 29th, Koko concert. Despite d negativity, I managed to hold my head up nd stay positive! Home now..#NeverAgain” said eccentric Channel-O presenter, Derenle Edun.
“Call me a hater but Dbanj is too big of an artist to be putting out mediocre shows like that!! #kokoconcert,” said @natashamutale
“This guy better not be planning to drop any album soon. People will refuse to even bootleg it,” said Tome Buluku tweeting from the handle @IamTome.
“There’s def no koko concert next year sha. Not with this crap,” said Yemi O tweeting with the handle @mimio193
“D’Banj speaks like Igbo man from Iweka Road now,” said Onyeka Nwelue.
“@iamdbanj sold more VIP & VVIP tickets than d no of seats available..we had to hustle for seats..pathetic,” said Tokunbo Otitoju tweeting from the handle@fimiletoks
“In Koko Concert, Money can’t buy class. LOL. 1M for table no mean you no go do endurance trek to and fro,” said @Shimoshi1.

“Odemwingie is not the Messi or Ronaldo of Nigeria” – Yobo blasts West Brom striker
Fenerbache defender and captain of the Super Eagles, has waded into
the ongoing Osaze Odemwingie saga, calling the West Brom striker “a kid
who needs to grow up”.
Odemwingie has not taken his exclusion from the the Nigerian team heading to the Africa Cup of Nations next month likely, taking to Twitter to vent against the coach, the Nigeria Football Federation and even former international, Victor Ikpeba.
However, in an acidic reaction, Yobo has asked him to put a lid on it.
“Osaze has been reckless, disrespectful to most people. He’s not a kid, he should grow up because we cannot continue to baby sit him. He is responsible for his problems,” Yobo told Nigeria’s foremost sports radio, Brila FM on Friday.
“This is not the first time he has been disrespectful. He is fighting all the coaches and at the World Cup he also disrespected me and he later apologised.
“He is not the (Lionel) Messi or (Cristiano) Ronaldo of Nigeria. He should look himself in the mirror.”
Yobo applauded Stephen Keshi, for the provisional squad he selected for the tournament, although he expressed surprise at some names that were not picked.
“I will give him credit for the squad. He will score 95 percent even though one or two should have been there,” he said.
“I’m sure he would have had some sleepless nights in selecting his team. Kalu Uche, Martins, Taye and Osaze not being there was a surprise but the coach must have his reasons and he cannot call everybody.”
The 32-year-old also admitted that this might be his last Nations Cup, so younger players can be given a chance.
“I think I have to admit it that this may be my last Nations Cup. We have to allow younger players to get their chance,” he said.

Osaze Disses Victor Ikpeba On Twitter
This is the translation of what Osaze threw as a parting shot: Ты не принц, а скорее принцесса. Ты не тянешь. Так что, ДАВАЙ ДО СВИДАНИЯ ! "You're not a prince, but rather a princess. You do not
pull. So, let's GOODBYE!"
